ACID CIP | HEAVY-DUTY LIQUID ACID DESCALER

ACID CIP is a heavy-duty liquid acid descaler formulated to remove stubborn scale deposits in food processing equipment. It finds uses in the milk, brewing, beverage, wine industries and general food processing plants. ACID CIP is used to remove deposits resulting from a combination of proteins, minerals, and hard water scale which, due to their chemical make-up, cannot be removed by alkaline cleaners. Milkstone, beer stone and wine stone are familiar names in their respective industries and any build-up of scale creates surfaces which allow bacteria to breed, and this reduces the quality of the final food product. Depending on the type of plant in use, the application of an acid wash may be required on a daily basis as in milk pasteurises or heat exchangers, or it may be used on a once-a-week basis where the formation of scale is not as severe. Many plants use an alternating method of scale control where the processing equipment is cleaned for 5 to 7 days with an alkaline cleaner followed by a day using ACID CIP in this way the stronger cleaning power of the alkaline cleaner is used to prevent scale build-up and the acid cleaner, ACID CIP removes those deposits which occur, and which cannot be removed by an alkaline cleaner.
