SYSTEM 350 is a flaky powdered alkaline compound designed to remove oil, grease, combustion engine sludge, paint, heat formed scale and rust from ferrous metal (iron) parts.
It is highly versatile and while it is intended to be used in a hot bath, good results have been obtained even when used cold, although the time taken is considerably longer.
SYSTEM 350 is not suitable for use on aluminium or other light metals. The attack on copper or brass is slow and thus articles containing cuprous parts, which cannot easily be removed, may be cleaned successfully without damage. SYSTEM 350 is a highly buffered product and will continue to clean even in the presence of a large quantity of grease and oily soils. Pre-cleaning easily remove soils will extend the life of the SYSTEM 350.
Health & Safety
Care must be taken to avoid splashing should the tank be at operating temperature and also in view of the high causticity which results in the generation of additional heat. Articles should be placed in a metal basket and lowered into the tank or some similar system should be used to enable the work pieces to be retrieved easily. As the solution is both highly caustic and hot it must not be allowed to come into contact with the skin or eyes.
Full protective clothing such as gloves, eye or face shield and rubber boots must be worn.

Application (How To Use)
The tank, if small, may be charged by dissolving the SYSTEM 350in a bucket of water which has been scooped out of the tank. Take care as the water will become extremely hot. For a large tank it should be filled with water to about half or 2/3rds of the required depth and heated to 65C. SYSTEM350 should then be dispersed over the surface of the tank using a spade. Agitation with a steam cleaner or pressure washer will assist in dissolving the SYSTEM 350. Do not drop the SYSTEM 350 into the tank as a lump as it will not dissolve on its own. It must either be pre-dissolved or sprinkled in and stirred with a spade or agitated with a pressure washer or steam cleaner. For optimum results SYSTEM350 should be used at the ideal temperature of between 82 to 88C. Grease, oil, sludge, and paint will be removed at concentrations of from 40 to90 grams per litre while rust and heat formed scale are removed in concentrations of from 240 to 360 grams per litre. Agitation is advantageous but agitation by airline should be avoided as these speeds the oxidation ofthe chemical and thus reduces its effective working life. Mild steel tanks are suitable provided they are free of rust which the SYSTEM 350 would remove and there by possibly cause a leak, 316 stainless steel is the best.
